The work offers a complete framework, from both the legal and economical point of view, with technical particulars too, of the new means of broadcasting transmission represented by Mobile Tv, and of the new technological and economical opportunities offered - and in particular of the legal issues proposed - by technological innovation and especially by the process of ""digital convergence"", of which it represents simultaneously an example and a model.
Stazi Andrea - Mercati emergenti fra convergenza tecnologica e concorrenza
To such an extent, at the beginning, the research proceeds to an economical and competitive picture of the new market, taking into account the potential dynamics, and drawbacks, of it.
Then, it analyses in detail the regulation concerning the subject of broadcasting in general, with particular regard to allocation of radio frequencies and access to the market, at international level and specifically in Italy.
Following on, after having considered the fundamental principles and regulatory issues relating to the start-up of the emerging market of Mobile Tv, the work examines, with reference to what is defined as the new ""general"" category of ""emerging markets"", the profiles of the safeguard of competition, and the role and limits of antitrust law regarding the same.
Ultimately, the research proposes an analysis of the regulatory intervention adopted by the Italian Communications Authority, precisely relating to the ""particular"" subject of the emerging market of Mobile Tv, in order to allow its start-up.
In conclusion, after having tried to prefigure some possible regulatory options - and in any case hypotheses of solutions - for the specific case in question, which is exactly that of Mobile Tv, and more broadly of the new ""integrated market of audiovisual"", the work proposes - on the basis of the analysis carried out in the previous chapters regarding the ""general"" category of emerging markets - a way of looking at the relationship between antitrust law and regulation based on interaction and ""dialectics"".
