In this 185th issue of the Baba Indaba’s Children's Stories series, Baba Indaba narrates the tale of “THE PERPLEXITY OF ZADIG.” Many uears ago in the ancient land of Mesopotamia, on the banks of the river Euphrates there once lived a man called Zadig. He spent his days studying animals and could identify their different behavioural traits.
One day the Queen’s pet dog ran away and, worried, she sent the palace servants out to search high-and-low for him. Describing the dog Zadig while claiming he has not seen it, is ordered to the palace and brought before the Supreme Court, which believed him to have kidnapped the dog.
Download and read the story to find the answer to the riddle of how Zadig was able to describe the dog and what happened to him.

Baba Indaba is a fictitious Zulu storyteller who narrates children's stories from around the world. Baba Indaba translates as "Father of Stories".

Each issue also has a "WHERE IN THE WORLD - LOOK IT UP" section, where young readers are challenged to look up a place on a map somewhere in the world. The place, town or city is relevant to the story. HINT - use Google maps.
