Mel grew up in a Baptist home with a single mother. She was raised in a large family with 15 siblings and was considered a middle child. This marked the beginning of a long and painful journey of abuse for Mel. To her utter dismay, her mother sold her and forced her to perform sexual acts on men within the church community. This exploitation and manipulation left Mel deeply scarred. Pregnancy and Further Abuse: It was during this dark period that Mel found herself pregnant, multiple times, as a result of the abuse she endured. The preacher in the church community chose Mel, and she felt trapped in a cycle of violence and manipulation. The physical and sexual abuse she endured only added to the decades of trauma she carried within her. Personality Traits: Mel's traumatic past has shaped her personality in various ways. This turned to subtance abuse in her adult life effecting how she treated her children. Turn of events: As an adult Mel has three daughters but targets her middle child Mia to abuse. She used her past and her substance abuse to exuse her nonstop mental, physical, and emotional abuse of Mia causing Mia to run away from home to avoid the severe abuse. During these times Mia was subjected to the cruelty of this world being raped and taken advantage of at a very young age, until she meets her second abuser who gets her pregant and she is forced to marry him. Strength and Resilience: Despite the immense challenges she has faced, Mia possesses an inherent strength and resilience. This resilience is evident in her ability to survive and protect her three children amidst the adversity she has experienced. Mel's or her children and her determination to shield them from the same horrors she endured is a testament to her strength and resilience.
