It is the culmination of the inspiration from the English Romantics and written to the beats of Bollywood music.
Although painful, the pain sees a way of being felt as its freedom and salvation. It is a case of "when the pain overflows, it itself becomes the cure", to paraphrase Aadil.
The the deaths that he laments and the new feelings of adjustment that he had to accommodate lead to his relapse into mental illness and hospitalisation.
His poetry, most of it started nearly five years ago and laying dormant all this time, has finally been completed with the gift of hindsight to complete it.
Hopefully, the readers will see see a soul "in the abysses of his wilderness" trying to come to terms with loss and learning to love and make friends again. Of despair and learning to hope again. Of trying to make new beginnings out of old endings. In short, struggling with mental health issues like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder on top of the deaths and losses that lead to it in the first place.
In all this, the earlier losses of my uncle lead me to stop writing. The death of my friend Yasin Khan in 2017 lead me to pick up the pen again. Altogether it took almost five years to get something that had ended to start again.There are millions of reasons to live, if you know how. This book is about that search
