Avril’s life as a successful movie producer and single woman is over. The Ganglio Blastoma Multiforme grade 4 tumor she’s diagnosed with has never left a survivor. She prepares to say good-bye to friends and family when a chance encounter with Donte, an enigmatic old man, compels Avril to look inward to take responsibility for her illness.
After embarking with Donte on a spiritual journey Avril is guided to confront her child within, while looking for her way back home. Her turning point takes place at a funeral home, where Donte convinces her to lie down inside an empty coffin. While inside the coffin she has visions that reveal her past secrets, which are key to her healing and her decision to live.
Afterwards, Donte disappears and five years later Avril writes this story The Vagabond. In the last chapter of her story she delivers a strong message to the reader: you can’t survive death, but you can recover from a terminal illness by taking full responsibility for it.
Although this novel is fictional, it’s based upon a true story of cancer survival, against all odds. It will draw the interest of those who are not satisfied by the answers provided by science and religion alone, and are aiming their search at the unfathomable powers of a belief system. A Cornerstone Literary Agency report has compared this work to Illusions by Richard Bach and the messages conveyed in its pages to those of The Power of Now by Eckart Tolle.
