In this 193rd issue of the Baba Indaba’s Children's Stories series, Baba Indaba narrates the tale of “Virgillius the Sorcerer.”
Virgillius, or Virgil, was born to a Roman Knight but his father died when he was quite young. Unscrupulous relatives stripped his mother of the family’s wealth, but his mother managed to save some and sent Virgillius to school in Castile–La Mancha, Spain so that one day he could study at the great University of Toledo.
While yet a boy he discovered a library of magic books and being an avid reader, began to learn magic.
Returning to Rome as a young man he uses his magic for good, but is treated with scorn and suspicion by the people, but especially by the Emperor. Even so his magic continues to grow and he becomes more powerful. And then one day Virgillius disappears.................Download and read this story to find where Virgillius disappeared to and what adventures he got up to while he was away.

Baba Indaba is a fictitious Zulu storyteller who narrates children's stories from around the world. Baba Indaba translates as "Father of Stories".

Each issue also has a "WHERE IN THE WORLD - LOOK IT UP" section, where young readers are challenged to look up a place on a map somewhere in the world. The place, town or city is relevant to the story. HINT - use Google maps.
