It sets the legal record beside the events: the Geneva Conventions, the UN resolutions, the rulings of the International Court of Justice, and the warrants of the International Criminal Court. It follows the money, the vetoes, and the weapons. From there it tells the history straight: the Nakba of 1948; the occupation that began in 1967 and never ended; the settlements, the wars, and the broken promises from Balfour to Oslo; how military occupation manufactures the armed resistance later used to justify it; and the long, misunderstood story of Iran and Israel. What he asks of the listener is not agreement. It is attention. The book closes where it began: on the side, in every place, of the human being in front of the gun. A book about how to listen.
