Following the successful programme to support schools in raising standards of literacy, this book aims to publish the work of another project to working with schools to implement the National Numeracy Strategy for pupils attaining below level 1 of the National Curriculum. In addition is clear guidance about precisely what needs to be learnt in order to achieve the key reception objectives identified in the National Numeracy Strategy. Related to these component parts of the learning objectives are a wide range of activities and resources to help teachers choose activities which will be motivating and enjoyable for pupils and encourage them to learn more quickly.
