Further, 5% of adults with the same age range have no remaining teeth. The study also predicts that when these adults reach 65 years of age, the rate would have increased to 96%. A 2016 National Center for Health Statistics survey shows that 18.6 percent of children aged 5 to 19 and 31.6 percent of adults aged 20 to 64 has untreated dental cavities.
