I rolled up some bread around my hook and casted my line into the water and found a place on the riverbank to sit and relax. I looked up into the sky, there were no clouds or thunder until a cloud started to gather in the sky across the river above the large native apple tree that was standing alone in the paddock. Suddenly lightning lit up from the cloud and struck the ground across the river. As the sky lit up, I could see several people's dark silhouettes standing in the paddock. This story details the beginning of a birth of a song writer and the birth of an author and sheds a whole new light on what it means to walk the 8-mile road.
