Ismene has never been given her full account. She is always the coward, the foil, the one who said no. But Ismene was not wrong. She was right about everything — the death, the futility, the political reality of two women with no power against a king. She was right. And she is still here. And she carries her sister. That is the other story. The one that happens after the burial. The one that is also true.
