But as the wind shifts, something inside me does. A pulse. Faint. Stubborn. Alive. The dust settles into my lines like a forgotten map, and for a moment, I feel the shape of the person I used to be — beneath the layers of programming, beneath the years of numbness, beneath the manufactured calm. Up here, far from any signal, the world is beginning to speak again. And slowly, painfully, so am I.
