He expanded the Carolingian family’s land holdings through strategic alliances and conquest, ensuring the family’s dominance. His military reforms, including the establishment of a permanent cavalry, also contributed to his ability to maintain control and expand his territories. By the time of his death in 741, Charles Martel had secured a powerful legacy, both as a ruler and a protector of Christianity in the West.
