«Quando iniziai ad arrangiare e a registrare gli inni nazionali di tutti i paesi del mondo, non avrei potuto immaginare che questo progetto sarebbe stato coronato da un successo così grandioso. Nel corso degli ultimi anni queste incisioni sono diventate una parte di primaria importanza in due edizioni delle Olimpiadi estive e di un gran numero di altri eventi sportivi, culturali e sociali. È davvero difficile rendersi conto di quanto tempo e impegno sia stato necessario profondere per la realizzazione di questo progetto, che non avrebbe mai potuto essere portato a termine senza il lavoro appassionato e la competenza di diversi studiosi di inni nazionali, dei musicisti e dello straordinario team di tecnici del suono che hanno preso parte alle registrazioni fin dall’inizio, gli ingegneri del suono Otto Nopp e Ladislav Krajcovic. Si tratta di un’impresa discografica senza precedenti e nessun’altra raccolta di inni nazionali disponibile sul mercato può competere in termini di completezza, qualità della ricerca e dimensioni dell’orchestra utilizzata. Ogni volta che viene aggiornata e ripubblicata, questa edizione viene sempre accolta con giudizi molto lusinghieri, che vanno da entusiastici commenti della stampa specializzata a un gran numero di comparse in programmi radiofonici e televisivi e addirittura a benedizioni di arcivescovi. Mi auguro sinceramente che questa nuovissima edizione – che comprende un numero di inni senza precedenti – possa ottenere il medesimo favore» (Peter Breiner).Il compositore e direttore slovacco Peter Breiner si è messo in luce soprattutto per l’originalità del suo approccio alla musica, che si sostanzia spesso in brillanti rivisitazioni e trascrizioni di opere del grande repertorio.
