I'm 72 and was raised by a mother and father old enough to be my grandparents. We weren't churchgoers and the subject of God never came up. However, mom taught me a bedtime prayer. "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray to the Lord my soul to keep, if I should die before I awake, I pray to the Lord my soul to take." Therefore, belief in a higher power was ingrained into my psyche at a very young age. As I grew older friends would periodically bring up the subject of God. "Yeah, where did God come from? I don't believe any of it." I certainly couldn't answer that question but silently retained my belief. Today, how do I know God is real? I and others have witnessed paranormal events that can only be explained as miracles. I've written a free 176-page autobiography titled "Two Faces One Life: The Journey Within" that explains these beautiful occurrences in detail. I'm also experiencing a deep and growing peace and find that absolutely nothing bothers me. The old adage that one can lead a horse to water but cannot make the horse drink is very true when it comes to the subject of spirituality. When you're thirsty you'll drink.
