The Kennedy Center Chamber Players are comprised from the principal musicians of the National Symphony Orchestra, Washington, D.C. This album features principal clarinetist Loren Kitt and GRAMMY Award winning pianist, Lambert Orkis, joined in the Trio by principal cellist David Hardy.Emotionally, these three works can be viewed as a progression. From struggle (heard in the Trio), through reminiscences, towards acceptance (Op. 120, No. 1), and ultimately on to hope (Op. 120, No. 2), Brahms, through the power of absolute music, is able to communicate to us some of the most potent and universal of human feelings.
