I Hope You Hate This

di Nick Pollard (Autore)

Leap, 2027

From the life coach behind the popular Instagram account @thepeopledispleaser, fresh, spiky advice for how to fix your relationships and live the life you want As a recovering addict and chronic people pleaser, Nick Pollard couldn't understand why his self-destructive behaviors weren't going away after years of therapy. Then he realized: it wasn't his therapists' responsibility to 'fix' him. If he wanted to get better, he was going to have to do a lot of stuff he really didn't want to do. I Hope You Hate This is an irreverent guide to becoming a happy, fulfilled adult, one painful choice at a time. Crackling with Pollard's stranger-than-fiction stories and self-deprecating humor, this book will make you deeply uncomfortable as you do the work of uncovering behaviors that prevent you from becoming your ideal self. Pollard's tough love approach teaches readers to actually say no when you mean no, to build resilience, and to rediscover the personality you've repressed to make other people happy. Changing your life isn't always fun or worthy of an Instagram carousel. It's often the hard work we don't want to do. But by taking responsibility for our lives, we learn to view our agency as a gift that can help us create the freedom, happiness, and fulfillment we all deserve. First, you will hate it. And then, it will help.
