The Lobster Plot

In this clever, witty debut mystery, four lifelong friends work together to solve a murder after a body is discovered during their coastal Maine town’s summer festival, perfect for fans of Richard Osman and Elle Cosimano. Nora Goodrich bought the Victorian mansion in Tripps Bay for two reasons: she likes that the Pink House presides over the sleepy coastal Maine village like a queen surveying her kingdom, and that it’s big enough to accommodate her and her three best friends: Allie, Carla, and Maya. These fiftysomethings have weathered divorce, widowhood, career shifts and empty nests, and are now looking forward to the next chapter in life—together. But then—in a twist of fate that not even Kurt the Clairvoyant Crustacean could have predicted—a skeleton is discovered stuffed in a lobster trap during Tripps Bay’s annual summer festival, shattering the small town’s peaceful veneer. When the victim’s widow turns up on their doorstep the following day, asking for help, Nora and her friends leap into action. The more they dig into the case, the more the investigation begins to expose a darker side to their picturesque coastal sanctuary. Can this fearless foursome reel in a killer before someone else gets caught in the trap? Delightfully offbeat with equal parts murder, mischief, and Maine charm, The Lobster Plot proves it’s never too late to stir the pot—or catch a killer.
