A U.S. Navy commander is shadowed by rival ships in a silent demonstration of parity. Aris walks through a major city whose skyline remains but whose energy is gone, its culture reduced to nostalgia, its streets hushed by anxiety. An older, weary Aris returns to the symbolic heart of the decline: a decaying eagle statue.
