Questo nuovo volume della pluripremiata Bootleg Series racconta la storia dell’emergere e della maturazione di Dylan come cantautore e performer, dal Minnesota alla bohème del Greenwich Village nei primi anni ’60. Include rare outtakes dagli archivi Columbia Records, registrazioni effettuate durante serate nei club, in piccoli incontri informali, negli appartamenti di amici e in jam session in ritrovi di musicisti ormai scomparsi. Il cofanetto Deluxe su 8 CD presenta 139 brani – 48 performance mai pubblicate prima, oltre a 38 rarità assolute, e include un libro cartonato con ampie note a cura di Sean Wilentz e oltre 100 fotografie rare. Gli ultimi due dischi del cofanetto contengono la registrazione completa e inedita dello storico concerto di Dylan alla Carnegie Hall del 1963, mixata dai nastri originali.
