This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice. Shortly after the outbreak of the Second World War, the young Flemish businesswoman Angelique (Angele) Dams enters into a risky transaction. She is betrayed and eventually ends up in a prison in Cologne. During a heavy bombing raid, Angele suffers a severe hemorrhage, after which she is granted permission to recover in Belgium. There, she resumes her former life. But as the time approaches when she must return to Germany, fear takes hold of her, and she makes a decision that will have dramatic consequences for the rest of her life. Later in life, Angele Dams spent countless hours talking with Ed Bruyninckx, who recorded her remarkable life story. "Frau Angela" is an honest, candid, and astonishing book about war, imprisonment, betrayal, and injustice.
