Raconteur Press, 2025

They went looking for a meteorite. They found a war. Five friends hear about a farmer who dug a million-dollar meteorite out of a Kansas wheat field and decide to find one of their own. Cinch cracks codes. Keith crunches numbers. Ronaldo duels imaginary foes. Frank pranks the principal's PA system. Joel says almost nothing and flies like an ace. Together they are the Meteor Men. Armed with library microfilm, a borrowed magnetic probe, and a retired colonel's eight-foot model B-24 bomber, the boys survey an Oklahoma sod farm from the air. When their shovels finally strike metal, what lies beneath the field is bigger, older, and far more dangerous than any space rock. A fast, funny adventure built on real science: magnetometers, GPS, and a homemade autopilot A buried Civil War mystery that pulls in reenactors, historians, a stubborn old farmer, and a mayor with designs on the dig A rival schemer, a camouflaged Messerschmitt, a hidden cipher, and one very good dog Clean content suitable for upper middle school and high school readers Book 1 of the Meteor Men. Book 2 is on the way. For readers ages 10 to 17.
