Far from helping, the Sky-Realm remains distant and haughty to those scrounging to make a living on the surface, but despite the disagreeableness of its people, Ridley visits routinely to restock her supplies. During one such rest-stop Ridley is intrigued to see a surface-dweller beseeching aid from any who will listen. After witnessing the young woman being mocked and dismissed, Ridley feels compelled to intervene and sets in motion a chain of events that will rekindle the spark of progress and see the peoples of Ilnar once again join in common cause.
