As the armada of the Qing Empire begins its conquest of the Jeweled Hills, the legion—ignorant of the new threat—continues to wage war with its enemies over the mighty city of Diamonte and the strategic stronghold of Centinela. This volume includes Diamonte in Flames, Night Fighting, and Street Fighting. Diamonte in Flames: . As the city of Diamonte burns, an armada of ships from the dreaded Qing Empire takes control of its harbor and prepares to secure possession of the city. While its residents flee in panic, clogging the streets as they try to escape, both the legion and their enemies must reevaluate the threats facing themselves and the Jeweled Coast. Does continuing their own war make sense when a new and powerful foe has appeared? Or is the smart move to try and quickly finish off the foes of yesterday before retrenching to defend the land from this dire new peril? Time is running out as flames consume Diamonte. Night Fighting: Against all odds, Severus Lupus has gotten his exhausted cohort inside the walls of Centinela—the city treacherously stolen from the legion and its allies by the traitor, Lord Totila. But getting inside only magnifies his problems. Centinela is a strong hold of the enemy with more than four thousand Gente soldiers and a troop of Gota cavalry defending it. A sane man would build barricades and try to hold out until reinforcements could arrive—but as his legionnaires have discovered, Severus Lupus is not sane. And while the grizzled veteran strives to extend his control over the city, on the coast far to the east, his fellow Aquilan, Calidus Vulpus, struggles to extract his legionnaires from Puerto Granos before the invading Qing can trap and defeat him with their armies of the undead. Both men are about to become embroiled in a night fight that could determine the ultimate fate of the Jeweled Cities. Street Fighting: While the Qing Armada begins to extend its reach beyond the city of Diamonte, Severus Lupus struggles to hold on to the city of Centinela, unaware of the new threat on the coast. His problems are endless. His Gente allies are untrustworthy, he holds more prisoners than he has legionnaires, the Wharf Gate has been burnt down leaving a gaping hole in his defenses, and the Citadel at the center of the city is still in the hands of the traitor, Totila. With the Diamonte army under Master of Horse Yorik planning a counter conquest, it looks like Severus and his legionnaires are in for some bloody street fighting.
