A practical guide about Clumping bamboo with a humorous twist. Gardening is earthy and should be fun !

People often ask me how did you get in to Bamboo ? Well it started when I moved from Sydney after a horrible marriage breakup and a desire to have a new life. Away from the City. I did just that, I bought a large lush tropical 22 acre property. There were over 1200 different botanical species growing already, 35 varieties of which were Bamboo. My background was working in an office, and growing three lovely girls. I had always enjoyed plants, flowers and gardening - especially creating nice homes and outdoor areas. Tallawong In Byron Bay was a huge challenge for a women on her own. I wanted to have a happy simple life THEN I fell in love with this giant grass. It became my obsession ! Before I knew it I had a little Nursery and was producing and selling Clumping bamboo plants to all sorts of people from Australia and also visitors from overseas. I added my favourite tropical plants to my nursery, like Heliconias and Gingers. Next I designed a beautiful space for people to visit. After a few years, a obvious market for Bamboo Poles and Wedding arbours took me into a sideline business. By 2015 Harvesting, cutting treating became half of our operation. My knowledge of bamboo grew as fast as the amazing plant itself.
