Book 2 Linda has started working at her new job. While it is stressful, she proves to be competent and pleases Samson. When Jane leaves on a family emergency, Linda temporarily takes over as Samson's personal assistant, making them work closer together. Linda slowly stops grieving and moves on. A few months later she and Samson have lunch together and then that night have dinner before winding up at his place. One year later he proposes to her.
